lose-up flash unit for use with the MP-E 65mm f/2.8 1-5X, EF 50mm f/2.5, EF 100mm f/2.8 and EF 180 mm f/3.5L Macro lenses. It offers a wide range of features with selected settings shown on a large, easy-to-read LCD panel.
The MR-14EX features E-TTL flash technology. When used with Speedlite 550EX and 420EX units, wireless control of up to three slave groups is possible. Maximum guide number is 13 (m/ISO 100).
Working with close subject distances can provide lighting problems. The Macro Ring Lite MR-14EX and Macro Ring Lite ML-3 overcome these. Designed for macro flash photography, the Ring Lites attach to the end of the macro lens barrel (an adapter may be required).Twin flash tubes are mounted in the unit. The tubes can be fired together or separately to control the shadows given by the lighting. Exposure is handled automatically using E-TTL (TTL with the ML-3) flash metering and there is an exposure confirmation signal lamp. Canon Speedlites can also be used for close-up photography by attaching off-camera TTL flash accessories to move them away from the accessory shoe. This allows you to angle the flash head towards the subject for improved lighting.Features Include:
